SGPE supplies Casing Packers, External Casing Packers, Inflatable Casing Packers and Hydraulic Expansion Casing Packers for oil and gas well cementing, completion, annular isolation and zonal isolation applications. Designed to create a reliable seal between the casing string and the wellbore or surrounding formation, a casing packer helps control annular fluid movement, improve isolation between selected intervals and support more effective well construction in challenging downhole conditions.

A typical External Casing Packer is installed as an integral part of the casing string and is run into the well together with the casing. After the casing reaches the required setting depth, the packer element is expanded by hydraulic pressure or another approved activation method until it contacts the wellbore wall and establishes an annular seal. Compared with conventional downhole production packers installed inside the casing, this type of packer operates on the outside of the casing and is particularly suitable for cementing, completion and annular isolation programs where control of fluid migration around the casing is required.

Depending on the approved design, the packer may incorporate an expandable elastomer element, hydraulic setting mechanism, casing connections, pressure-control components and supporting accessories. Material selection can be adapted according to operating temperature, well fluid, H2S or CO2 exposure, required differential pressure and the expected service life of the completion.

These Oilfield Casing Packers can be used in oil wells, gas wells, water injection wells and other completion projects where dependable annular isolation is required. Typical applications include primary cementing, stage cementing, selective zone isolation, prevention of unwanted annular communication, control of fluid or gas migration, isolation of weak or fractured formations and support for completion programs in irregular or enlarged wellbores. An Inflatable Casing Packer can also be useful where the open-hole diameter is larger or less uniform than the outside diameter of the casing, because the expandable sealing element can accommodate a greater degree of borehole variation than many rigid sealing arrangements.
