Manufactured from 4145H modified quenched and tempered steel, our Drill Collar adheres to strict metallurgical specifications. This guarantees a consistent maximum depth of hardness throughout the entire length. With a hardness range of 285 to 341 BHN and a Charpy impact value of 40 ft-lbs, our Drill Collar delivers exceptional performance even at room temperature.
To protect the connections from the elements and prevent galling during initial make-up, they are completed with a phosphate coating. Additionally, our API and H-90 connections have cold-rolled thread roots for enhanced durability. For convenience and added protection, all drill collars equipped with standard connections come with pressed steel thread protectors.
