Heavy Weight Drill Pipe
Heavy Weight drill pipe is a key transition component between drill collar and ordinary drill pipe in oil drilling, which plays the core role of bearing force, vibration damping and slope stabilisation under complex working conditions by optimising the structure and material.
Functional essence: relieve the stress concentration at the joint of drill collar and drill pipe, avoid the vibration of drill collar to be directly transmitted to the drill pipe, reduce the risk of fatigue fracture, and at the same time, provide part of the drilling pressure to enhance the drilling efficiency; replace the drill collar in small borehole drilling, easy to operate; replace most of the drill collars in directional wells to reduce the occurrence of torsion and adherence to the stuck drilling etc., to reduce the cost from the face, and at the same time, it is beneficial to maintain the orientation of directional wells. Due to the large contact area between the drill collar and the tight closure, a great friction occurs with the well wall when transiting, thus making the borehole have a tendency to deflect, when replacing the drill collar with a weighted drill pipe, this possibility can be reduced, thus conducive to maintaining the orientation of the directional well.
1.Maximum ID of pipe body is 1/8 times larger than theoretical size. Minimum ID of pipe body is controlled by drift requirement.
2.The optional tool joint OD of HWDP should be at the agreement of buyer and manufacturer.
3. Drift diameter is based on ID tolerance of pipe body central upset.
